UM System President Gary Forsee will deliver the keynote address during the Internet2 annual member meeting at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The theme of the meeting is “Collaborations and Resource Sharing in Research and Education: How the economic crisis is fueling the expansion of networking technology, fostering global communities, and driving social change.” Presentations will focus on the elements of network-based collaboration, including but not limited to, virtual organizations, social networking and software-collaboration tools.
The event takes place at 10:30-11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6.

President Forsee will share several examples of ŷbƬ’s innovative and strategic uses of information technology, including use of TelePresence rooms (Cisco/AT&T) and journalism/engineering school faculty/student initiatives, as well as the Tiger Institute for Health Innovation with Cerner Corporation, a global leader in health information technology.
