All UM System universities have programs in the top 100 graduate school programs in the 2020 U.S. News rankings.
Each year thousands of students look to U.S. News and World Reports ranking of America’s Best colleges while researching the next step of their educational journey. This year, prospective graduate students will find that all four schools in the University of Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ System (UM System) are featured in these rankings.
All UM System universities have programs in the top 100 graduate school programs in the 2020 U.S. News rankings. Notably, the University of Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ – St. Louis (UMSL) ranked 5th for its criminology graduate program, 83rd for Best Nursing Master’s, 98th for Best Doctor of Nursing Practice and 96th for social work. The University of Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ – Kansas City (UMKC) was ranked 36th in pharmacy and 94th public affairs. The Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ University of Science & Technology (Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ S&T) was ranked 82nd for Best Engineering Graduate Schools out of 214 surveyed.
The University of Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ – Columbia (MU) College of Education graduate program moved up from 46th in 2019 to 36th in 2020 out of 392 education schools in the nation. Within the College of Education, the student counseling and personal services program ranked 3rd. Several of MU’s graduate programs ranked in the top 50, including veterinary medicine (19th), library information studies (22nd), health care management (28th), clinical psychology (36th), psychology (45th) and physical therapy (46th). Additionally, Mizzou was ranked 64th for Best Medical School in Primary Care and 82nd for Best Medical School in Research.
U.S. News & World Report bases these rankings on student acceptance rate, quality of graduate programs, doctoral degrees awarded, student-faculty ratio and research expenditures. U.S. News also surveys deans of other universities and graduate programs and hiring professionals in the respective field of study. These high rankings show that UM System graduates are highly regarded by both the academic and business worlds alike.
